My friend who is versed in vintage dolls said that this is one of the earliest Betsy McCall dolls. She has metal pin joints, rather than plastic.
Betsy is wearing her original barrette and her original wig is cloth based rather than vinyl based.

Herskirt shows light wear, as there a few tiny little pin hole stretches in someof the nylon. The bodice and flowers look very nice.

Vintage 1950's Ideal Betsy McCall doll. Her head is marked McCall Corp. Her back marked Ideal Toy Co. She measures about 14 inches. Not sure of her wig style. I haven't done anything to her hair. Not sure what it's supposed to look like but it's intact, just sticking out a bit. Clear brown sleep eyes & full lashes. Her body is hard plastic & her head is vinyl. To me she looks a bit like Jane Withers. I'm quite sure this is her original dress but it's untagged. There is a red squiggle on her back over the Ideal mark. To me it looks like red cloth fibers that got stuck to her with glue or something. I couldn't remove it. I'm selling her as is & am happy to answer any questions about this item. Thank you!
