, circa 1961. Measuring 29" tall (catalogues stated she was 30") she is almost life-size and sold
only until 1962
as she was quite expensive for the time. With her multitude of joints she could assume nearly every position imaginable! It was advertised by the manufacturers that she could actually even balance on one leg! She also appeared in many
McCall's Magazine
photos posing in child-like activities and was an
advertising doll
for
McCall
. She is in exceptionally clean condition and capable of being posed in so many ways. With a full head of luxurious long, medium brown, curly rooted hair with thick bangs (no trim or missing plugs) she has the famous "impish smile", big blue sleep eyes with inset eyelashes, brows and soft cheek blush of a real child. on her neck, she has
joints at her waist, wrists, ankles, hips, upper thighs and shoulders with a swivel head
. She wears her original three-piece, pink satin and tulle ballerina costume with pink tights and gold leatherette ballet slippers with ties. See her in, "

"-Van Ausdale. She has no cracks or splits, (one foot has repair covered by her pink tights) no chew marks or stains and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Her costume has some tears in the tulle due to play wear. Her big sisters, cousin "Sandy McCall", "Tiny Betsy" (s), "Daddy's Girl" and other doll friends are
not
included and each
listed separately.

• Vtg Besty McCall Starter Set Style 8300 With Original Package Back Doll
• appears to be complete just missing plastic that held it all down
• cardboard backing is bent in half so it is creases
• Arms are off if you have the skill should be a easy fix to stretch the rubber band back on
• the eyes don’t move you have to manual open or close perhaps from years of no use
• looks in very nice shape appears like never played with
• blue outfit appears to have glue or unknown substance on one area perhaps that held doll in place in packaging
