Here's a beautiful piece of chintz, but identified only as being made in ENGLAND on the reverse. The piece is a handled cake plate with gold trim all around the edge. The piece is kind of a rounded square shape. The edge undulates and has points with florals every 45 degrees. Two of these points are of course the handles which are opens loops (two each side) with prominent trim. The decoration is wonderful, dark, exotic colors with prominently blue and rose color large flowers , paisley-like shapes and plenty of other flowers & leaves in interesting shape and colors. There may be some slight wear to the gold trim, but not much and the piece is otherwise factory mint. At the handles there are some white areas where apparent difficulty was found in joining the trim and the pattern., a manufacturing problem... but not significant. The base has a lonely ENGLAND ink stamp and no other markings. A really original and attractive design.. estimated to be about 1920. .

This beautiful Sadler Florence Chintz teapot is new, has never been used and has no damage of any kind. My mother and I used to own a gift shop in the 90's and I recently found rare beauty in storage.
